Lately, the news has been filled with stories of people forming romantic relationships with AI bots. While that wasn’t the inspiration for this collage, it did make me wonder—would an AI-generated golem long for companionship too? Reading Frankenstein pushed this idea further. Just as the creature in Mary Shelley’s novel begged for a mate who would understand him, I felt compelled to create a companion for my female golem. With all the talk about human-bot relationships, I have yet to hear of AI entities themselves desiring companionship. But if they could, would they?
